1st January 2008, London: College Hill’s Life Sciences team has been appointed by Index Ventures, Geneva, Switzerland to develop and implement a PR programme to raise the profile of Index as a leading venture investor in the life sciences arena globally, in particular amongst the pharmaceutical industry, innovators and within the venture capital community.
Sue Charles, Managing Partner, Life Sciences at College Hill will lead the account, supported by Justine Lamond, Account Manager and Claire Mosley, Account Executive. College Hill will work alongside Blossom that will handle life science PR in Switzerland and Spark PR that handles Technology PR globally.
On behalf of Index, College Hill’s first announcement was the close of the €400 million Index Ventures Growth I L.P – the first fund of its kind raised by a European venture capital firm that addresses the market opportunity created by the maturation of Europe’s start-up industry and the movement of traditional late-stage investors into larger deal sizes in both the technology and life science sectors. The new fund will complement Index’s venture capital fund, Index Ventures IV L.P., which will continue to focus primarily on seed and early-stage investments. Dr Guido Magni, formerly the Global Head of Medical Science, Pharmaceutical Division, F. Hoffman-La Roche Ltd. Basel, Switzerland joined the Index Ventures team to focus on the Growth Fund.
Index Ventures is a leading European venture capital firm active in technology venture investing since 1996. The firm is dedicated to helping top entrepreneurial teams in the Information Technology and Life Science sectors build their companies into market defining global leaders. The firm has offices in Geneva, London and Jersey and focuses on investments from seed through growth stage companies.
Commenting on the win, Sue Charles said: “We are delighted to support Index Ventures with its PR programme and look forward to working with the partners to ensure that its strong position and excellent performance is widely recognised”.
