College Hill Ranked 9th Largest UK Healthcare Communications Consultancy

8th July 2008, London: College Hill, the international business communications consultancy, has recently been ranked 9th in PR Week's analysis of the top 25 UK Healthcare agencies, based on gross revenues from its healthcare PR work by its life sciences sector team.

College Hill is a new entrant to the league table as a result of its acquisition of Northbank Communications last year. Income generated by the life sciences team represents an 8% increase in Northbank's revenues over 2006/2007, resulting in a three place rise from 12th position in the previous survey.

Sue Charles, Managing Partner, Life Sciences, College Hill, commented: "Our specialist healthcare and life science focused communications services have been enhanced through the integration of Northbank Communications into College Hill, adding resources and capabilities to our dedicated team of highly qualified and experienced staff, in particular, expanding our financial PR and public policy capabilities".

In 2007 and 2008, some notable Healthcare PR campaigns included: support of Oxford BioMedica's Trovax cancer vaccine Phase III trial and patient recruitment; positive Phase I data for Acambis' universal influenza vaccine, ACAM-FLU-A™; pre-market support for Smith Detection's portable diagnostics system for foot-and-mouth disease and Avian flu; and to position Lab 21 as a leading provider of healthcare and environmental diagnostics.

Commenting on the Company's healthcare offering, Sue Charles remarked: "Our specialist offering for healthcare and life science companies includes pre-marketing communications support in areas of 'new biologics' such as antibodies and immunotherapeutics, stem cell research, and personalised medicines and diagnostics, enabling clients to grow new markets for their products. Other prominent services include corporate PR, especially in science communications, technical and medical writing, and the design of on-line/off line marketing and corporate positioning tools".
