College Hill Life Sciences Welcomes New Team Members in London

8 September 2010, London, Manchester, Munich, San Francisco, Boston: College Hill, the international business communications consultancy saw three new additions to its Life Sciences team: Tim Watson and Gemma Howe joined as Senior and Junior Account Managers respectively, with team support being further strengthened with the appointment of Jayne Crook as Senior Account Executive.

Tim has 10 years’ experience in the science communications field, working in-house on media and public relations campaigns, marketing, and stakeholder interactions. He is adept at working across multiple mediums to reach a diverse range of target audiences. Tim has a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol and an MSc in Science Communication from Queen’s University Belfast. Prior to College Hill, Tim worked as Communications Manager at the NC3Rs, a UK Government funded organisation that takes a scientific approach to minimising the use of animals in research. He has also worked as a Press & PR Officer at both the Royal Society and the British Science Association. In all his roles he worked extensively with scientists from the academic, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors to secure trade, specialist and mainstream coverage. He has also developed numerous websites and print materials, run public and scientific events, and has a keen eye for engaging copy.

Gemma provides account support and management focusing on communications planning and management, technical writing, PR, copywriting, editing and media outreach for clients, as well as managing marketing and design projects. Graduating with a BA (Hons) in Criminology and Journalism from the University of Lincoln, Gemma gained experience in developing stories in both print and broadcast media. Prior to joining College Hill Gemma was a Press Officer for the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine where she implemented communication strategies to raise public health awareness and promoted science to mainstream audiences and gained experience in science communications and international campaigns across a wide range of disciplines, including media relations and events management.

Jayne will work across a spectrum of College Hill Life Sciences’ retained and new clients, supporting the team to ensure efficiency and high impact. She joins from Axiom Communications where she spent 18 months working in PR for health & well-being, green issues, food & drink, and lifestyle clients. She has an honours degree in Biology from Bristol University.
