9 April 2012, London: International business communications consultancy College Hill has announced the promotion of three members of its Life Sciences team in London. Jayne Crook, Gemma Howe and Dr Anastasios “Tasos” Koutsos. Gemma becomes an Account Manager, while Jayne and Tasos both move up to the position of Senior Account Manager.
Gemma has been with College Hill since 2010, joining the company as a Junior Account Manager. She has six years’ experience in science communications and international campaigns across a wide range of disciplines, including media relations and events management at College Hill and previously at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. In her time at College Hill, Gemma has worked on a wide array of corporate and financial projects for clients including Lab21, Verona Pharma, Mesoblast, Pronota, Phagenesis, Bioxyne, Mucosis, DySIS Medical and Microtest Diagnostics. She has a BA (Hons) in Criminology and Journalism from the University of Lincoln.
Originally a Senior Account Executive at her appointment in September 2010, this is Jayne’s second promotion and comes a year and a half into her time at College Hill. Previously, Jayne spent eighteen months at Axiom Communications, a public relations agency, where she implemented communication campaigns to educate institutions and consumers on public health, wellbeing and green issues. At College Hill, she has worked across a wide range of clients, primarily focused on corporate and financial communications for clients including Index Ventures, GE Healthcare, e-Therapeutics, Source BioScience and Cellzome. She has been involved in co-ordinating the launch of high profile announcements, organising client events, including one with the British Prime Minister, as well as crisis management. She has an honours degree in Biology from Bristol University.
Tasos joined the team in 2010 as Account Executive. During his time at College Hill he has rapidly gained experience across a wide range of communication programmes including corporate, financial and marketing projects and supported a portfolio of clients including Roche Partnering, Affymetrix, Dionex, Prosensa Therapeutics, Cerenis Therapeutics, BioInvent International and Forbion Capital Partners. Before joining College Hill, he worked as an editor for the open-access publisher BioMed Central. Tasos has a background in life sciences that includes infectious diseases, genomics, bioinformatics and immunology and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany and the University of Crete, Greece. This is his third promotion at College Hill.
