Instinctif Partners Congratulates John Carroll for Winning “Mediscience Commentator of the Year” Award

20 June 2014, London: Instinctif Partners is pleased to congratulate John Carroll from FierceBiotech for winning the 2014 award for the “Mediscience Commentator of the Year” at the European Mediscience Awards on 19th June 2014 in recognition of his clear and concise commentary on the Life Sciences Sector.

The accolade for “Mediscience Commentator of the Year” was sponsored by the Life Sciences of Instinctif Partners (previously College Hill Life Sciences); this is the 6th year that it has been sponsors of the event.  This award can be awarded to an analyst, a journalist, a columnist, a research house, a specialist website or a team that is dedicated to providing sharp, perceptive and penetrating commentary about the sector.  Past winners include Andrew Clark, Deputy Business Editor at The Times and the teams at BioCentury and EP Vantage. Other finalists in 2014 were the BioCentury Team, the Scrip Intelligence Team and Matthew Goodman from the Sunday Times.

John Carroll, Editor of FierceBiotech, has 35 years of prize winning experience in journalism.  Before his 11 years as Editor at FierceBiotech, John previously worked for Dallas Morning News, Houston Press and was part of a Pulitzer Prize-winning team of reporters and editors at the Kansas City Star & Times. He spent six years as editor and publisher of the Dallas Business Journal and was also the publisher of Texas Business. John has covered genomics, biotechnology, healthcare and other business topics. FierceBiotech has recently increased its coverage in Europe with the appointment of Nick Taylor, based in Europe, who writes the weekly EuroBiotechReport.

“Good communications is vital for any industry, none more so than the life science industry, where investment horizons are long and clear expectations management strongly influences investor sentiment” said Sue Charles, Managing Partner, of Instinctif Partners’ global Life Sciences practice.

“Having high quality commentators with a deep understanding and interest in the sector is important, and we are pleased that John Carroll has been recognised in this way” she added.
As sponsor, Instinctif Partners hosted a table at the Mediscience Awards dinner which was held on 19th June at the London Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane.
