Instinctif Partners Welcomes New Members to its London and Munich Life Sciences Teams

21 October 2014, London, UK and Munich, Germany: The Life Science team of Instinctif Partners, the international business communications consultancy, announces the appointment of six new team members who have recently joined its offices in London and Munich. Working as an integral part of the global Instinctif Partners Life Sciences team, the new members will support clients across a wide spectrum of retainer and project PR accounts.

Ruth Ashton – Account Director, London

Ruth has worked in healthcare communications in the pharmaceutical and consumer health industries, where she has supported brand and corporate communications activities at UK, EMEU and global level.  She has recently worked on profile-building campaigns for commercial and research-based organisations in the technology and environmental sectors.  Ruth joins from Edelman where she was a content specialist supporting the healthcare and policy teams.  Amongst other clients, she will be working on Intercept, Nanobiotix and Vascular Flow Technologies. Ruth has a BA (Hons) in Sociology from the University of York.

Daniel Gooch – Account Director, London

Daniel re-joins the team, having previously worked at Instinctif Partners (then College Hill) from 2010-2012. Previously he has worked in communications and public affairs consultancy, Government policy, and pharmaceutical R&D. He has supported corporate communications activities for many global life sciences clients. When at the UK Department of Health, Daniel covered policy areas including genetics and biotechnology. Whilst at the UK Department of Business he was head of medical biotechnology policy. Daniel started in R&D at Glaxo Wellcome (now GSK) and Boehringer Mannheim (now Roche) producing anti-cancer drugs. He has an MSc and Dutch BEng degree in Biotechnology, a BSc (First) in Biotechnology, and an advanced diploma in Communications Studies. Current clients include Prosensa, Mucosis, Oxford Gene Technology and Ampliphi.

Dr Priya Kalia – Junior Account Manager, London

Priya joins the team from a background in academia, most recently from King’s College London where she was a postdoctoral researcher studying bone and cartilage tissue regeneration, and prior to that at the University of Cambridge. She will support Life Sciences clients across the full spectrum, but with a focus on corporate communications in the biotech, bioprocessing and cell therapy areas. Current clients include GE Healthcare Life Sciences and Celenys. Priya holds a PhD in Orthopaedic Research from University College London and has a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of Toronto, Canada.

Dr Andreas Zunhammer – Account Executive, Munich

Andreas has prior experience in the biotech industry, having worked in marketing & sales for a start-up company providing mycorrhizal fungi for agricultural applications. He is a native German and fluent in English, and is supporting Life Science clients internationally, and especially in Germany, in corporate communications and public relations. Current clients include NOXXON Pharma, Cytotools and Global Bioenergies. Andreas studied Cell biology, Neurobiology and Ecology, and holds a PhD in Human Genetics from Munich University and took an advanced training course in Life Science Management.

Emma Barlow – Junior Account Executive, London

Emma brings three years’ administrative and events experience to the Life Sciences team. She supports client teams with a focus on financial and corporate communications, for both listed and private companies, including for example Clinigen plc, Premaitha Health plc and Nanobiotix SA. Emma graduated from the University of Bristol with a BSc (Hons) in Zoology.

Alex Bannister – Junior Account Executive, London

Alex joins as a recent graduate from the University of Leeds with a BSc (Hons) in Human Physiology. Winning the Biomedical Sciences Prize for Second Year Human Physiology Student and conducting research on primary neuron cultures during her degree has given Alex insights into life sciences and science communication. She supports client teams on corporate communications and public relations accounts including DNA Electronics, Xellia Pharmaceuticals and Oxford Gene Technology.
