Superdex™ 75 Increase from GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences business is a new-generation size exclusion chromatography (SEC1) resin for fast, reproducible, and high resolution small-scale purification and analysis of recombinant tagged proteins. Compared with predecessor products, Superdex 75 Increase prepacked columns offer runtimes reduced to one-third with maintained resolution2, or up to 50% higher resolution for improved purity and analysis.
Superdex 75 Increase columns are designed for use with proteins with molecular weights (Mr) from 3000 up to 70 000, for a variety of applications including preparative protein purification (µg to mg quantities), aggregate analysis, complex formation studies, and screening of samples. The resin is based on a high-flow agarose base matrix with good pressure and flow properties. Superdex 75 Increase provides improved performance compared with predecessor Superdex 75 because it has smaller, more rigid beads with a narrower particle size distribution and a higher selectivity.
Three different column dimensions are available:
The 10 × 300 mm column is well suited for high resolution separations for both preparative and analytical purposes, with sample volumes from 25 µL to 500 µL. For smaller sample volumes (4–50 µL) and high resolution preparations and analyses, the 3.2 × 300 mm column is the best choice. The shorter 5 × 150 mm column is suitable for quick purity checks and rapid screening when the highest resolution is not needed.
