How do we attract attention to an IPO in the emerging field of bio-economy?

Challenge

Translate a very complex business model, which is highly scientific in nature, into an easy-to-understand and attractive investment case. At the same time, make the IPO candidate BRAIN aware of the transparency and communication requirements of the capital markets.

Action

Pre-IPO, we provided ongoing advice while setting up appropriate investor relations structures in the company. Our IPO communication support included the IR website for which we prepared structure and content. Further activities comprised the transaction PR (organisation and realisation of press interviews, IPO press conference, design and distribution of transaction-related news), preparation of FAQs, coaching regarding the main transparency obligations as a listed company, and communication with retail investors (flyer, roadshows).

Result

Despite a difficult and volatile capital market environment, BRAIN has successfully realised its IPO within the initially set price range and timeframe. Approximately 22% of the equity capital were placed at a valuation of €32.5m. The quota of retail investors was remarkably high at 19%. The proceeds allow the company to drive forward its pipeline projects and to enhance the marketing of its own products. The positive press response significantly contributed to the IPO marketing campaign.
